Course Description

This course offers a comprehensive introduction to the art of drawing, focusing on the fundamental skills needed to master still-life composition, basic shapes, and key concepts such as perspective, light, value, and space. Students will gain the knowledge and hands-on practice necessary to build both their technical abilities and artistic confidence.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Set up a functional and efficient drawing workspace using an easel, drawing table, or drawing board.

  2. Demonstrate an understanding of the illusion of three-dimensional space by accurately distinguishing between light and dark areas.

  3. Explain the concept of value and produce a value scale that expresses a full range of grays.

  4. Analyze and apply the principles of linear perspective, recognizing its importance in creating realistic drawings.

  5. Exhibit selected works in the student showcase art exhibition.
