Julio Andrés Rozo is the co-founder of Amazonía Emprende, an organization established in 2019 that provides innovative solutions to help companies achieve their decarbonization goals and generate measurable biodiversity gains through the restoration of the Amazon rainforest. Through strategic partnerships and science-based models, Amazonía Emprende works with leading global and regional institutions including the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Nestlé, Microsoft, Bancolombia, Banco Popular, and the World Economic Forum.

Julio is a recognized thought leader in ecosystem restoration and sustainable development. He serves as a columnist for the World Economic Forum, Forbes, and El Espectador, where he writes about environmental restoration, climate action, and regenerative business models. He is also the host of the podcast Restaurando Tu Finca, which focuses on sustainable land management and rural transformation.

His work has earned international recognition. He was named a LinkedIn Top Voice in 2022 and recognized as a Top Innovator by the World Economic Forum in 2021. In 2020, he was awarded the Environmental Merit Cross by the German Government for his contributions to environmental sustainability. In 2023, he was a finalist for the Caracol TV Environmental Award.

In 2018, Julio completed a 400-kilometer journey across the Amazon rainforest to identify and promote alternatives to combat deforestation, a milestone that further solidified his commitment to environmental advocacy and action.

He holds a Master’s degree in Environment and Development, as well as dual undergraduate degrees in Business Administration and Finance.
