DANIA BEACH, Fla. — October 16, 2026 — United International College (UIC) celebrated a historic milestone on Thursday, October 8, 2026, with its Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening Ceremony at its new campus, located at 249 S. Federal Highway in Dania Beach, Florida.
Held in partnership with the Greater Dania Beach Chamber of Commerce, the celebration marked 25 years of UIC’s commitment to higher education and service to the South Florida community, while ushering in a new era of academic opportunity, cultural engagement, athletics, and community partnerships.
The event brought together city officials, community leaders, business professionals, students, alumni, faculty, staff, artists, and friends of the college to celebrate UIC’s legacy and its vision for the future.
Dania Beach Proclaims October 8 as United International College Day
One of the most significant moments of the celebration was the presentation of an official proclamation by Dania Beach Mayor Joyce L. Davis, declaring October 8, 2026, United International College Day in recognition of the institution’s 25 years of service to South Florida and its new home in Dania Beach.
The proclamation states:
“NOW, THEREFORE, on behalf of the Dania Beach City Commission, I, Joyce L. Davis, Mayor of the City of Dania Beach, Florida, do hereby proclaim October 8, 2026, as
United International College Day
in the city of Dania Beach, and extend our warmest welcome to UIC, along with our sincere wishes for many years of success and growth within our community.”
In a meaningful exchange of recognitions, Dr. Marcela Moyano, UIC Board Member and Director of Communications, presented an award to Mayor Joyce L. Davis in appreciation of her service as Commencement Speaker at UIC’s 24th Commencement Ceremony during the college’s Silver Anniversary Year.
The award also recognized Mayor Davis for inspiring UIC graduates to become World Ambassadors—individuals prepared to embrace cultural diversity, demonstrate leadership, and make meaningful contributions to their communities and the world.
This recognition highlighted the shared commitment of United International College and the City of Dania Beach to education, leadership, civic engagement, and the development of future generations.
A Ribbon Cutting Celebrating Leadership and Community Partnerships
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Randie Shane, CEO/Executive Director of the Greater Dania Beach Chamber of Commerce, which symbolized the opening of UIC’s new campus and the start of an exciting chapter for the institution in Dania Beach, FL.
The ribbon-cutting was followed by a special blessing from Father Reginald Jean-Mary, pastor of Notre Dame d’Haiti Catholic Mission, offering words of faith, hope, and goodwill for the college, its students, and the entire UIC community.
A New Home and a Brighter Future for the Eagle Rays
The grand opening represents an important milestone in UIC’s continued growth and its dedication to providing students with a holistic educational experience that extends beyond the classroom.
“This grand opening celebrates 25 years of United International College’s dedication to our community while marking the beginning of an exciting new era. Here in Dania Beach, our Eagle Rays will have the opportunity to learn and grow near our beautiful sandy beaches, develop holistically as scholars, leaders, and individuals, and proudly represent UIC through intercollegiate athletic competition,” said Angelica Moyano, UIC Board Member and Director of Academic Affairs.
The new campus provides a home for UIC’s academic community and growing Eagle Rays athletic identity, creating opportunities for students to develop intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially.
Celebrating Art, Culture, and Hispanic Heritage
Art and cultural expression were important elements of UIC’s Grand Opening Celebration, reflecting the college’s commitment to creativity, multicultural awareness, and holistic education.
A featured attraction was the Memory and Future Times Art Exhibition and Hispanic Heritage Tribute, brought to UIC by the Colour Senses Project and curated by German Chaves.
Presented during Hispanic Heritage Month, the exhibition celebrated Hispanic cultural heritage, artistic expression, identity, and the connections between memory, the present, and the future.
As a special souvenir of the exhibition, guests received a commemorative poster featuring artwork by renowned Colombian artist Fernando Botero, offering them a lasting reminder of the celebration and the rich artistic heritage of Latin America.
Guests were also invited to experience the college’s sculpture garden, designed by Charly Silva and curated by German Chaves and the Colour Senses Project. The garden brings artistic expression into the campus environment, offering a space for reflection, cultural appreciation, and creative engagement.
These artistic initiatives highlight UIC’s belief that education extends beyond traditional academic settings, encouraging students and community members to engage with the arts as a source of inspiration, dialogue, and personal growth.
Honoring the Students Who Made the Celebration Possible
UIC also expresses its sincere appreciation to the City of Dania Beach, Mayor Joyce L. Davis, the Greater Dania Beach Chamber of Commerce, the Colour Senses Project, German Chaves, Charly Silva, participating artists, community partners, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of the college for their support and contributions to this important milestone.
United International College extends its heartfelt gratitude to the student volunteers whose dedication, enthusiasm, and teamwork helped make the Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening Celebration a memorable occasion.
UIC proudly recognizes the contributions of Nico Luis Pauly, Dylan Marks, Ana Regina Bucio, Juan Pablo Ebrat, Maria Paula Malaver, and Jorge Eduardo Florentino Castillo.
Special appreciation is also extended to the UIC Media Team, represented by Communications and Mass Media students Abril S. Oviedo, Daniela Mercedes Lubo, and Karyna Shapshuk, for their contributions to the event.
Their involvement demonstrated UIC’s commitment to experiential learning, student leadership, collaboration, and professional development, providing opportunities for students to apply their skills in meaningful, real-world settings.

For 25 years, United International College has remained committed to providing educational opportunities that foster academic achievement, entrepreneurship, leadership, cultural understanding, and personal growth.

With its holistic educational philosophy, academic programs, growing athletic initiatives, multicultural community, and commitment to artistic expression, UIC looks toward the future with renewed purpose.
The proclamation of United International College Day will remain a lasting symbol of the college’s Silver Anniversary and its new beginning in Dania Beach.
