Career Source Broward Offers Training Grants of up to $8,200 toStudy A Business Degree at UIC

Miramar, FL (November 9, 2016), United International College (UIC) announces its agreement with Career Source Broward to offer its associate programs in Business Administration and International Business Management for applicants interested in making higher wages and improving their quality of life. Applicants who are currently unemployed or receiving low salaries can qualify for up to $8,500 in tuition reduction.

Education plays a pivotal role in the employment status of residents of the United States. According to theNational Center of Education Statistics, employment rates are higher for students with a bachelor’s degree (89) compared to those who only complete high school (67).

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the United States , the unemployment rate of Florida is of 4.7 in 2016.

$869 is the average weekly wage nationally and 34.4 are the average hours worked per week nationally. $782 is the average weekly wage statewide and 34.1 are the average hours worked per week statewide according to the second quarter 2016 Labor Market Report of Miami Dade County.

According to The Bureau of Labor StatisticsTop Executives is one of the fastest growing occupations in the United States. In 2014, there were offered 2,467,500 jobs in this field. To qualify for a top executive position, applicants usually have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and five years of experience or more. The median annual salary for top executives is $102,690. Similar occupations are administrative service and sales managers.

United International College (UIC) offers Associate and Bachelor Degrees in Business Administration and International Business Management and is now a training provider of Career Source Broward.

Career Source Broward is a federally funded administrative entity of Broward Workforce Development Board. The goal of Career Source Broward is to generate a sustainable economy in Broward County by offering services to job seekers and employers. Therefore, under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) or the Welfare Transition Program (WTP) grant, Career Source Broward offers funding to applicants who qualify for training/education opportunities of up to $8,200.

One of the requirements to receive Career Source Broward funds for education is that the students must qualify to receive Pell Grants, which are available according to the financial need of the student’s household.

Prospective students must be (1) US citizens or residents and (2) must have a high school diploma or a GED, which is equivalent to the high school diploma.

Also, Career Source Broward has a special program that funds the total tuition of the business degree of young students between the ages of 16 and 21 and who are currently unemployed.

The Financial Aid office of United International College guides students interested in applying to receive these federal grants to fill out the FAFSA application (code 042332).

These are the steps to follow to receive federal funds and enroll in an academic program:

1. Apply to the Associate Degrees in Business Administration or International Business Management at United International College

2. Attend the Universal Orientation at Career Source Broward on any Monday or Wednesday at 8:45 a.m.

3. Gather required documents found on page 7 of Application to apply for training (Application form will be provided during the Universal Orientation).

4. a. Attend a Fast Track Orientation on Mondays at 2:30 p.m. or Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.

4. b. Meet your assigned Success Coach.

4. c. Submit gathered documents to this session.

4. d. Fill out Part II of Application.
